Typical Chemical Composition (%)
Forging: 1050 to 850℃, slowing cooling in furnace.
Heat Treatment of Steel 1.2363
Annealing: 820 to 850℃, slow cooling in furnace (10-20℃/hr), down to approx. 600℃, cooling in air. Hardness after annealing: max. 240HB.
Stress relieving: approx. 650℃, holding time 1 to 2 h, slow cooling in furnace.
Hardening: 950 to 1000℃, blast; larger section also in oil or hot bath at approx. 350℃ to 450℃. Hardness obtainable, 63 to 64 HRC.
Tempering: Slowly heating to tempering temperature right after hardening. Recommended to temper 2 or 3 times to increase toughness.

Properties of Cold Work Steel 1.2363
Air hardening cold work tool steel. Excellent dimensional stability, age retaining and wear resistance. Good hardenability and toughness.
Applications of Cold Work Steel 1.2363
Blanking and punching dies, circular and straight shear blades. Thread cutting tools; stamping and similar tools.
